Business Coaching

A founder or an owner of a business has a huge impact on the organisation he or she creates, regardless of whether it has grown into a big business or whether it is still in a younger and smaller stage. That is why, if the owner stops growing, the business does too. And that is the reason why Christel has developed a strong passion for coaching owner-managed businesses. Linking the personal and professional together to create an environment of growth for everyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

These are some common questions about startup coaching.
The first step of a business coaching programme is to get really clear on what your goals are. Those goals then direct our coaching sessions, which happen on Skype every 2-4 weeks. In these sessions we cover anything from mental blocks getting in the way, practical how-to questions, and bouncing ideas around. Depending on your needs and the size of your business, we might also build in coaching sessions in person.

The fundamental dynamic between you as the business owner or managing director, and Christel as the business coach, is that you are the expert in your industry and in your day to day business. Christel is an expert at business growth on a more general level and by combining our two perspectives, the sum becomes greater than its parts. The outcome for your business becomes greater than either of you would be able to achieve on your own.

The reasons for working with a business coach can vary, but common for everyone is that you want your business to grow or improve in some way. Sometimes business coaching is about finding creative and low-budget ways to do grow your marketing efforts. Other times it’s about analyzing the business as a whole to work out how to grow the bottom line. And most of the time, it’s about having a sounding board with experience and competence who can notice your blind spots. Someone who asks the questions that you might not think to ask yourself.

Christel uses a mix of traditional business coaching methods, like goal setting and planning, together with the neuroscience-based technique mBIT coaching.

Christel qualified as a business coach in 2008 and since then, she has worked with business coaching both on a full-time and part-time basis. To date, she has worked with over 120 businesses, primarily in Europe.

Most business coaches have a fixed price list for what it costs you to work with them, but we’ve taken a different approach to pricing. For the smaller businesses, working with a high-quality coach is often so pricey that it just becomes impossible to do. We believe everyone should have the option of getting high-quality support in their business and that is why we price our coaching programs after the size of your business. So if you’re interested in taking a coaching programme with Christel, get in touch and tell us a little more about your business, and we’ll be able to give you a price based on that.

If you want your business to function and perform exactly the way it does today, then business coaching isn’t for you. But if you want to challenge yourself and your business to take the next step, whatever that step may be, then business coaching can be both a support and a catalyst for making it happen.

Growing up in the family business, she developed a love for small and medium-sized businesses early on in her career. That is probably why she has ended up specializing in them. She works with businesses in a wide range of industries, but has over the years developed a specialism in the self storage industry.

To use the fishing analogy, consulting is about going out there and finding you a nice, big fish to eat. Coaching is about teaching you how to fish. A consultant will give you the answers, whereas the coach will ask the tough questions. In reality, business coaching is a little bit of both and depending on what you want to improve in your business, your sessions with Christel might be a mix of both consulting and coaching.

Sessions are either every two or every four weeks. In between sessions, Christel is also available for email contact (within reason).
